What time is it there? Live clocks for the world’s major cities, ticking every second, plus any city you search — with each place’s true UTC offset right now (daylight saving included, because the calculations come from the IANA time zone database your browser already ships) and the difference from your own clock. No account, no widget, nothing sent anywhere except the city name you type.

Why “the time in ___” is a hard question

Longitude gives you the sun, but politicians give you the clock. Zones bend around borders, provinces split in half, and daylight saving starts and ends on dates each parliament invents — the offset of a city is therefore a lookup in a database of history and law, not arithmetic. That database (the IANA tzdb) lives inside every modern browser, which is why this page can answer accurately for any city without a time-zone API of its own. For the full story of how the world’s clocks got this way, read time zones explained.

Sun time vs clock time

The ☀️/🌙 on each card is the rough daylight guess (6 pm-ish horizon rule on the target’s clock). The sun itself is stricter: for the actual sunrise, sunset and daylight length anywhere on Earth, use the sunrise & sunset calculator — and if you are planning a call across the map, the distance calculator tells you how far the signal (or the flight) has to go. City names resolved by the Open-Meteo geocoder (cached on our server, one request per city per day); times, offsets and DST computed locally by your browser’s Intl API from the IANA time zone database.
