👥 Community & Social
Chat, posts, stories & live boards · counted honestly, kept private
Tukuk-OS is not just a reading site — it has a real community inside it. Everything social runs through T Chat, our free messenger that lives right here in the browser (no app store needed, works on weak networks, installs to your home screen). One name-and-password signup gives you a permanent 6-digit Tukuk ID that friends use to find you anywhere on the site.
What the community does here
Chat. One-to-one DMs, group chats and an open public room; voice and video calls over WebRTC, voice notes, photos and files, read receipts, replies, reactions and message search. An offline outbox means nothing is lost on a bad connection.
Post. A follower-only feed: 500-character posts with up to four photos or videos, likes, comments, reposts, quotes and #hashtags. Follow anyone whose ID you know — X/Twitter-style, both sides keep the connection list.
Story. A photo or thought that lives 24 hours and then disappears, with viewer lists and a tap-to-reply thread back into DMs.
Report. On the Traffic board, travellers pin congestion, accidents, hazards and checks onto a live map, and the community votes each report up or down so the useful ones rise.
Publish. With the Builder, anyone can make an app or game from a single sentence and publish it to the community store — other people play it, rate it and leave comments on its page.
Your privacy, plainly
Posts and stories are visible only to your followers; messages are visible only to the room members. This page shows nothing but aggregate numbers — no text, no image, no name ever leaves the chat layer to appear here. You can browse, read and use every content page on tukuk.org without an account; the account is only for taking part.
